TEXT: Jeremiah 22:12-30 (KJV)

12 However he shall die within the place whither they’ve led him captive, and shall see this land no extra.

13 Woe unto him that buildeth his home by unrighteousness, and his chambers by fallacious; that useth his neighbour’s service with out wages, and giveth him not for his work;

14 That saith, I’ll construct me a large home and huge chambers, and cutteth him out home windows; and it’s cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.

15 Shalt thou reign, as a result of thou closest thyself in cedar? didn’t thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, after which it was effectively with him?

16 He judged the reason for the poor and needy; then it was effectively with him: was not this to know me? saith the Lord.

17 However thine eyes and thine coronary heart usually are not however for thy covetousness, and for to shed harmless blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

18 Due to this fact thus saith the Lord regarding Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!

19 He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and forged forth past the gates of Jerusalem.

20 Go as much as Lebanon, and cry; and raise up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.

21 I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; however thou saidst, I can’t hear. This hath been thy method from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.

22 The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: certainly then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.

23 O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest within the cedars, how gracious shalt thou be when pangs stumble upon thee, the ache as of a lady in travail!

24 As I dwell, saith the Lord, although Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah had been the signet upon my proper hand, but would I pluck thee thence;

25 And I’ll give thee into the hand of them that search thy life, and into the hand of them whose face thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.

26 And I’ll forged thee out, and thy mom that naked thee, into one other nation, the place ye weren’t born; and there shall ye die.

27 However to the land whereunto they need to return, thither shall they not return.

28 Is that this man Coniah a despised damaged idol? is he a vessel whereby is not any pleasure? wherefore are they forged out, he and his seed, and are forged right into a land which they know not?

29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the phrase of the Lord.

30 Thus saith the Lord, Write ye this man childless, a person that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any extra in Judah.

KEY VERSE: “Woe unto him that buildeth his home by unrighteousness, and his chambers by fallacious; that useth his neighbour’s service with out wages, and giveth him not for his work” (Jeremiah 22:13).

MESSAGE:

It’s typically assumed that in life, the highly effective can actually get away with something. Their wealth, affect and large acclaim in some way confer on them a mystique that makes it unimaginable to convey them to account for his or her conducts. With the passage of time, they might even start to imagine that there’s nothing fallacious with their actions. However whereas they might get away from males, they can’t escape the inevitable judgment from God.

Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, was taught to dwell proper by his father however deviated from his good instance. He grew to become depraved, oppressed and exploited his folks very a lot. He was unwilling to pay them for his or her labour, however insisted on utilising their expertise, skills and time to construct himself an impressive edifice. For dishonest and oppressing his folks, God decreed that he shall die unmourned and buried as an outcast. And since his son Coniah continued in his footsteps, he too was rejected by God. The Lord deserted him to his enemies who sought his life. He would go into exile from which he wouldn’t return. He would turn out to be the final king of Judah from the lineage of Solomon and wouldn’t have any baby to succeed him.

You possibly can by no means inherit your mother and father’ religion. You need to make a particular option to personally set up a very good relationship with the Lord. You need to endeavour to comply with the examples of Jesus Christ and shun all evil practices comparable to fraud, dishonest, covetousness and selfishness. The place you’ve got gone astray, it’s best to repent and return to the Lord.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Evil pays a dangerous prize. Keep away from it!
